Pepper Picks a Pumpkin: It Might Inspire a Farm Visit

In 2006 I produced this book for Simon and Schuster. It was one in a series of four books based on a character called Pepper the Dog. The first book was Pepper Goes to School. The book had lifts, flaps, and pulls. This type of book would be hard to produce now because of the intricate paper engineering and cost to produce. I think Pepper was one of my favorite projects. I learned so much doing these books as it was my first attempt at children's art. Kim Gatto was the art director and we worked together to make these concepts come to life. Several of the books have become collector's items and they are hard to come by as some of them were more limited print runs. If you get a chance to read this to your young ones they'll enjoy the fun interactive tactile art. It may even inspire you to take them to a pumkin farm this season. Enjoy!
